An Overdue Update and Stuff!

Ok, so in all honesty, I totally have attempted to blog but was having major blogger issues.  I have also been seriously busy at work due to the beginning of school and crazy election stuff.  So here goes...

Election Update

In my last post I asked for prayers for my wonderful boss in the Superintendents election.  Well, the good Lord must have heard all those prayers because we are in a run-off.  I know some of you may not think that's a good thing, but let me tell you it is.  We were totally expecting a run-off, but we never expected Jerry to get such a high percentage of votes in the primary.  Jerry had 49.67% (or something like that) and the closest candidate had 23%.  WOW!  We almost pulled it off in the first and only liked 4 actual votes putting us over that 50% mark.  Having said all that, we will be voting again on tuesday August 23.  We couldn't be more proud of Jerry and just pray pray pray that everyone gets back out and vote.

Other "Stuff"

 Cardinal Football

My nephew Zack is a Senior in high school this year and plays football.  Our school has a fairly new football program, this is actually just our third year to have football.  We are getting a brand new field and couldn't be more excited.  Our field should be completed in the next few weeks or so.  Having said all that, our football team played in a jamboree saturday at the Ole Miss campus (and WON!).  We were too excited to see Zack out there playing on the Ole Miss football field.  Here are a few pics I took...

We parked across campus so that we could walk through the grove.  Tucker and I under the "Walk of Champions"

Tucker will be walking this walk someday as and Ole Miss Rebel!

I loved this!  Tucker taking it all in!

Ole Miss Student

I am now officially an Ole Miss student!  I will be finishing up my accounting degree. I am only taking one class this fall to get back in the swing of things.  I haven't been in school since Tucker was born, so we'll see how it all works out.  On the downside, I am selling my beloved Yukon to get a car to save on gas.  My Yukon averages 16 mpg.  I'm looking at the Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Malibu or Honda Accord.  Do any of you have one of these cars?  If so, let me know how you like them.  I have had a few calls on my Yukon but no takers.... so, if you know of anyone looking tell them to hit me up!

Pinterest

I'm just now finding pinterest!  *GASP* I know right!  I'm always a little behind.  I had read on several blogs about pinterest but I wasn't interested in looking at a bunch of random pictures.  HELLO!  No one told me that pinterest is so much more than that!  I absolutely LOVE it!  I have found so many cute ideas for Christmas, Halloween, Groving, Birthday Party's, House Ideas, Wonderful Sayings and Amazing Food ideas!  I spend way too much time looking through all the pins.  If you haven't checked it out yet I totally encourage you to do so.  Look me up here!  If you need an invite, let me know and I'll surely send you one!

Here are a few pins I'm loving!

Prayers Please

Hi everyone!  I am asking today for prayers.  I know this is kind of a silly thing to ask prayers for, but it is really important to me.

As I mentioned in my last post, our Superintendent of Education is an elected official and not appointed.  I have a very special friend, and co-worker, who is running for this position along with three other candidates.

Jerry Moore, our current Deputy Superintendent, is certainly the most qualified and is running for the sake of our children and for no other reason.  The other candidates are not currently in education.  One was a principal about 8 years ago, one is a former Memphis City teacher who was just let go because of job cuts, and one was once an assistant principal for a semester many years ago.

Now don't get me wrong, I do not know any of the other candidates personally so I can't really speak for their character, but I do know Jerry and have known him for a very long time.  I am so afraid that if he does not win this race, that our schools will be in major jeopardy.

So, I ask that you pray not necessarily for Jerry, but for our children and for our school district.  God has a plan and we may not know the reason for his plan, but what matters is that it's HIS plan.

Thank you for your prayers!  I'll let you all know the outcome of the election tomorrow.

God Bless,
